Whats putting holes in my geraniums leaves?

I have 4 pots of geraniums and in the last 2 weeks they have gone from blossoming like crazy to absolutely no flowers. The leaves have all been eaten away by something but I don't know what. The leaves are covered with holes. Some of the holes are large and some small. I have inspected the plants but I don't see anything attached the the leaves that could be eating them. About a week ago I sprayed a insect killer that is suppose to kill a broad spectrum of insects but they just seem to look worse.

As Lakey said above it's Geranium(Pelargonium) budworms. Look at your plant really closely. The worms or caterpillars will probably be the same color as the plant and will hid along the stems and in the undersides of the leaves. You can pick them off(and squish them). Or you can use a caterpillar killer called B.T, short for bacillus thuringensis(not positive of the spelling).

Reply:Aphids, caterpillars, mites and whiteflies may infest geraniums.

The list could go on further to include Thrips, and various beatles. It depends on your part of the country, the size of the hole and the pesticide longevity. My initial thought was caterpillars but they usaully dont leave holes...it sound more like a beatle of sorts. Good luck with your efforts to rid them sounds like you're on your way.
