Moving flowers inside for the winter geraniums?
They make excellent house plants provided you don't overwater, have good drainage in your pots, fertilize regularly, and most importantly give them good bright light or a sunny window. You may want to place several in a tray so that the flower blooms that fall off are easier to clean up, but they really are not a lot of trouble. Certainly they will die if you leave them outside, anywhere there is frost and freezes.

While you mentioned you want the winter color, if you have too many but want to try and save most of them, dig up the plants, shake off the excess dirt, and hang upside down in a dark, cool place. In early spring pot them, and many will revive and be reusable in the garden--a lot cheaper than buying new ones. I also save seed sometimes from the plants, they sprout readily and while they do grow slowly they are usually worth the effort. When I was growing up, I rarely saw geraniums outside, they were always house plants. Now it seems they are very popular in beds, I guess because people can afford them now.
Reply:We have to move ours indoors where we live because the frost and snow kills them. Just make sure they are in a well draining pot. Like a clay pot. Make sure they get some sunlight. If you want to repot them first you can. They are harty plants. You can make more of them by cutting off pieces at the joints and sticking the pieces in their own pots. Just make sure they have a joint under the soil that is where the roots come out. Bring them indoors before the first sign of frost in your area. If you live in a place that doesn't snow or freeze then you can leave them out. Put them back outside after the last frost about March or April. They can stay in the pot all year. Water your indoor plants whenever you feel that the soil about an inch or two down is dry. Oh and by the way, you spelled geranium right.
Reply:leave 'em out,they'll be fine
Reply:As soon as it gets too cold outside depending on where you live. I bring mine in mid to late september. I cut them right down to a few inches and put them in a cool dark place. In March i take them out and start watering and of course return them outside late may. My geraniums are a few years old its great.
Reply:just before a frost is going to hit, and they need lots of bright sun.
