Why won't my geraniums blossom?

The original blossoms have died off and they aren't growing new ones. They are just growing an abundance of leaves. I live in Northeastern Vermont.
Why won't my geraniums blossom?
I've got one that's doing that, too. It might be through for the year. Last year my red one did that and this year it's bloomed all season. My white one put on great blossoms early but hasn't put any new ones on in about a month. Wait and see what it does next year.
Reply:That is tricky one The answer is not where you live but where the Geranium lives. It needs lot of sunshine and not lot of water. Also be careful not to fertilize with what you fertilize the grass but a special blend for the flowering plant
Reply:Geraniums do require full sun and too much nitrogen will cause vigorous plant growth, but not much flowering. Use a fertilizer high in phosphorus and potassium and low in nitrogen. There is a Miracle Grow for flowers that should work.
